The Body Life Skills program was developed by Senior Behaviour Specialist Tanya Curtis and is the foundational method applied at FABIC when supporting any person to bring lasting behaviour change to their lives or the lives of others. The Body Life Skills program can be used in any environment where there is a human and where there are behaviours.
The Body Life Skills program is based on two important premises: all unwanted behaviour is preceded by anxiety, and all behaviour happens for a reason. Anxiety comes from the body when a person perceives that they do not YET have the skills to respond to a life lesson presented.
As soon as there is the smallest sign of anxiety in a person’s body, we simply ask, “I wonder why? I wonder what the part of life is where skills may be supportive?” We then start teaching the skills so that the person feels equipped to deal with life.
And that is the simplicity of the Body Life Skills Program.
