While there are rules and regulations to keep everybody safe that we all need to follow when living as a society, the rules that Senior Behaviour Specialist Tanya Curtis talks about in this video are ones that we don’t see nor speak about. They are just expected and often we don’t even realise that we have subscribed to them.
As well as rules there are also our pictures, which are our expectations of the way we think life and people should be. But why are these pictures different from one person to the next and where do they come from?
In this video, Senior Behaviour Specialist Tanya Curtis explains in detail that our pictures are based on our rules which come from the unwritten subscriptions we have, also called our ideals and our beliefs which are often rooted in a group consciousness we belong to. And that could be anything, from an ethnic group to a religion to a football club. And as disparate as they seem to be, what they have in common is an emphasis on a way of living that a person should follow.
Rules are basically what we as individuals have subscribed to as part of an available group consciousness which means that we can actively choose to unsubscribe from them when we are ready to move on.
