Behaviour change programs for everybody

Behaviour change programs that can support a team, family or any group with lasting behaviour change.

Our training programs are designed for small groups of people who are experiencing similar challenges. The group format offers a supportive and cost-effective way of obtaining the same information you would normally get via six individual behaviour specialist consultations. Participants are given the opportunity to access similar information in a small group over a block period of workshop-style presentations as

  • 5 x 1.5 hour presentations

Additionally, participants benefit from the interaction with others, from sharing their experiences and the mutual enrichment that group work provides overall.

The small groups allow for an interactive-style presentation supporting participants to practically apply the information and insights gained.

Who are group behaviour change programs for?

The group behaviour change programs are for everyone, from children to the elderly. The group training can support people experiencing unwanted behaviour or those wanting to gain a greater understanding of supporting people with behaviour change. Professionals who deal with behaviour in their field of practice, educators, mental health practitioners, Department of Justice staff and families can all benefit from participating in the group training format.

All programs can be offered in the following locations:

  • Online groups via Zoom (maximum of 10 participants)
  • On-site at your school, business or workplace (travel fees apply)
*group sizes are negotiable per setting

Social Skills Program

The Social Skills Program supports people to understand how their behaviours and words are likely to be received by others/another person

Socialising is a skill that often needs to be learnt and not expected.

It is often expected that we should naturally know how to be with other people without any training or after experiencing mishaps along the way. Why is this so, especially when you consider that for most other skills such as reading, writing or riding a bike, we must be taught them first? Connecting and interacting with other people is also a skill and like all skills, it requires teaching and a willingness to learn.

Whether it be a 3-year-old or a 70+-year-old, many people are left hurt as a result of the reactions they get back from other people. This hurt then laces their interactions with others. When we interact with people we constantly send out messages, whether it be with our words, our gestures or our body language. We expect these messages to be understood by the person, but sometimes the way they receive our messages is different to how we intended to send them out. When the person doesn’t like the message they receive from us, the message we receive back will not always be desired or enjoyable … and hence a clash occurs.

This workshop-style presentation will support people to understand how their own behaviours and words are likely to be received by another person. With this awareness, we can then examine our own style of interaction.

The outcome is increased awareness of how our interactions may be impacting on other people. If we understand how our behaviours are likely to be received by others, we are more likely to choose behaviours that will lead to acceptance and inclusion rather than rejection and exclusion.

Participants will learn how their gestures, words and behaviours impact others and develop the skills to bring greater awareness to their interactions.

Bullying

Supports people to understand and take responsibility for the behaviour that may be leading to the bullying of themselves or another

Bullying is rampant in society, all the way from the schoolyard to the workplace, right across the internet and beyond.

Whether it be in the school setting, workplace, home or wider community, many people find themselves either being bullied or themselves using bullying behaviour. The reality is, any case of bullying is about two people who are experiencing their own difficulties in life and both the ‘bully’ and the one ‘being bullied’ require support.

This workshop-style presentation will support all parties who have been involved in bullying to learn to take responsibility and examine their own future behaviours. Participants will learn to understand and be offered strategies to change:

  • Their own bullying behaviour
  • Their own behaviour when they are bullied
  • Their own behaviour that will stop them being a target of bullying

Participants will learn to understand and be offered strategies to change their own involvement with bullying, be it as a bully or as the one on the receiving end of the bullying.

Anxiety

Supports people to understand and overcome/heal their anxiety

Is anxiety stopping you from living life to the full? Learn to understand your anxiety and take back control of your life.

Anxiety can rule your life and limit your horizons if you allow it to. Perhaps you react to certain aspects of life by withdrawing or running away. Or maybe you feel unable to do all the things you would really like to do.

Anxiety can become a self-imposed prison that limits you from reaching your full potential and living in harmony with yourself and others. It may lead to staying home from school or work, not wanting to attend social events, meet new people, try new activities and/or withdrawing from certain aspects of life. You can easily feel helpless if you allow anxiety to control you.

This program will support you to understand your anxiety and offer tools that empower you to overcome your anxiety and face the challenges that life brings with increased confidence.

Participants will learn to understand anxiety and be offered tools that empower them to overcome their anxiety, resulting in increased confidence and well-being.

Anger

Supports people to understand and overcome/heal their anger

Is anger running you and is it the driving force in your life? Or perhaps you don’t even think of yourself as an angry person but find you are feeling frustrated and bitter about something but not quite sure why or what it is. Learn to truly heal anger and understand what it is showing you.

Anger is simply something we use in an attempt to manage and gain control over the aspects of life we are struggling to understand or cope with. Not having a grasp of our anger can have a significant impact on our quality of life, which in turn will have an impact on:

  1. All relationships
  2. Life at home
  3. Work or school life
  4. How we feel about ourselves
  5. In fact – all parts of our daily life

Life can feel overwhelming if you allow anger to control you and the way you deal with life. This program will support you to understand your anger and provide the necessary tools that empower you to overcome your anger and deal differently with the challenges presented daily.

Participants will learn to understand their anger and be offered tools that empower them to overcome their anger, resulting in increased quality of life and well-being.

Healing Sadness, Grief and Loss

Supports people to understand and heal/overcome their sadness, grief and/or loss

We don’t need to let sadness, depression, grief or loss dominate our lives. Yes, pain is real but it can be healed.

At times our experience of the world can feel overwhelming and all too consuming, leading to despondency, sadness, depression and even just wanting to give up.

This workshop-style presentation supports people to understand how they can get some form of control back over the situation they currently experience as overwhelming. It also offers ways to overcome the helplessness that is often experienced in these circumstances.

This course is designed to support you to take back control over your own life and equip you with a recipe to experience joy in your daily life again.

Participants will learn to understand their sadness and be offered tools to empower themselves to take back control in their life.

Leadership and Effective Communication Skills

Supports people to learn how to communicate effectively, whether that be with one other or a group

The way we communicate and are with others has a significant impact on our time with people and whether it is enjoyable or disappointing, the latter falling well short of our and their potential and lacking the enrichment that is always available.

The language used needs to be supportive, simple, clear and concise as there can be a big difference between an intended message (the message being sent) and an interpreted message (the message received) by another/others.

This is especially important when it comes to being an effective leader, whether that be in the community, at work or anywhere.

Participants will learn how to make sure that everyone speaks the same language, preventing disappointment, hurts and missed opportunities.
