Staff Mentoring
Organisational Change Made Simple
Designing, implementing, evaluating and modifying effective behaviour strategies can often feel overwhelming. The reality is, most workplace issues are caused by just a small loophole and it often only requires minor tweaking to make what has already been developed go from ineffective to effective. It’s just about having the expertise and understanding to see what is really going on.
Consistency in the application of behaviour change strategies is very important to ensure their effectiveness. It is very common for Fabic staff to be working with one client who has multiple staff, family and support workers. A student, for example, might have up to ten teachers and if not all teachers are using the same behaviour strategies, even effective ones end up being ineffective.
The Fabic staff mentoring program has been designed to support carers, staff, work colleagues and supervisors to implement strategies based on the Body Life Skills program to support the understanding and changing of non-preferred behaviour in a client’s natural environment. And the best way to do this is to train the staff to do so.
As mentioned throughout this website, our job at Fabic is to make our own job redundant. If we can equip the staff with the skills to implement successful behaviour change in a certain situation, they will then be able to bring those skills to any other cases where non-preferred behaviour occurs.
When it comes to behaviour change, it is always important to remember that we are never ever able to truly change the behaviour of another person. We can only ever change our own behaviour and from our choices to do so, support another to also make true and lasting behaviour changes in their own life.
Hence Fabic’s approach is to always cast no judgment towards anyone, no matter how extreme a behaviour might be. Instead, we teach the importance of understanding each other from the basis of seeing everyone for the awesome, amazing and lovable beings we all truly are.

Goal of Staff Mentoring
To support an individual staff member or small groups of staff to develop, implement, modify and evaluate behaviour strategies in the work setting by utilising the Fabic 3 step process to behaviour change, the Body Life Skills program.
Fabic staff are able to offer frequent mentoring to support the effective implementation of behaviour strategies in one identified environment for either one person or for an entire group.
This program is for anyone wanting to support the behaviour change of another/others, whether that be for individuals or small groups/teams of people such as organisations, families, schools or government agencies.
