Helin is a behaviour support practitioner who approaches her participant care with honesty and open-mindedness. She uses a collaborative approach to ensure that each participant and their families feel valued, understood and supported. Helin has experience working with early intervention through early childhood (ages 18mos-10 years old). She has worked with an extensive range of challenging behaviours, needs and abilities of her clients and has assisted in teaching ways of functional communication to meet their wants and needs. Helin has worked closely with parents and caregivers in parent training sessions to have the most success in their homes and out in their communities. With a Bachelor of Psychological Science, she has significant experience as a Registered Behaviour Technician and experience in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. This comprehensive background supports her effective and personalised approach to behaviour support. Helin loves seeing the kids she works with make progress, especially when they finally reach a goal or accomplish something they’ve been working hard on. For her, the best part of being a Behaviour Support Practitioner is getting to know each child as a unique individual, discovering their interests and hobbies, and helping families explore and enjoy those things together.
