What does it mean to make good choices or better choices? Enter the FABIC I Choose Chart, a great tool that helps clarify the seeming dilemma – all our choices are an alignment to either option 1 or option 2 behaviours.
Option 1 behaviour is our choice to respond to life; we are a willing student, embrace whatever life lesson is on offer and ask, ‘What’s next?’
Option 2 is our choice to react to life, avoid self-responsibility and try to control life and other people so things turn out the way we want.
Both option 1 and option 2 behaviour have natural consequences which are simply the outcome of our choices.
Option 2 leaves people stuck, anxious, unsettled and closer to code red on the FABIC Behaviour/Anxiety scale whereas option 1 behaviours are the better choice and lead to mastery of our life lessons which provides settlement and joy at or closer to code blue on the FABIC Behaviour/ Anxiety scale.
Tanya Curtis, Senior Behaviour Specialist and founding director of FABIC Behaviour Specialist Centre, explains that making good choices boils down to the question: Do I align to live closer to code blue (option 1) or do I choose to live closer to code red (option 2) in life?
